Just a short newsletter this time and I’m going to start it with an appeal:

On 22nd April I will be running the 2018 LONDON MARATHON to raise money for WORLD ANIMAL PROTECTION, a charity that has done an incredible amount of work to combat cruelty to animals worldwide over the last 30 years. It has led successful campaigns against practices like bear baiting and the horrific treatment of dogs in some countries.

A knee injury has threatened to scupper the run for me, but now I’m fighting fit. The race is back on and I’m trying hard to raise as much as possible for this charity (in a fairly short amount of time!).

PLEASE DONATE TO MY VIRGIN MONEY GIVING PAGE TO HELP THIS CHARITY HELP ANIMALS.

All donations are gratefully accepted, however small.

Thank you

GALLERY EXTENTION - OPENS MID APRIL!

Late last year I acquired the lower ground floor of the building adjoined to the windmill and since then work has been underway to renovate it. As ever, the size of the job (and the cost!) increases with each passing day but I think it’s going to be worth it. Discoveries so far include a hidden brick-built hearth, internal stone wall and a series of lovely 12” oak beams, all hidden from sight for I don’t know how many decades, but now given back the limelight they deserve.

Including the new space, the total display area of the gallery will then be an amazing 3,000 square feet which gives me bags of room to show both originals and limited editions without anything being squashed. The new gallery space will be open by mid April.  If you’ve never visited the gallery before, next month would be a good time. I hope it’s still cool enough to use the new wood burner!

Brick fireplace revealed. With all the structural work required, this was a small job that went BIG!

The newly exposed stone wall.

These oak beams were painted and encased in a lowered ceiling. It must have seemed like a good idea at the time!

NEW WORK

Meanwhile, I have several new paintings which are now framed and in the gallery, including these three that I’m particularly pleased with:

Nanjizel barrell
Hare on green
Dingle Hereford 2

Details for these and several other new pieces can be seen on the website by clicking here.

I’ll be back in touch soon with news of the opening date for the new space. Until then…
